Tauranga beach walk
“Ploosh” The car door gently shut as I hopped out of the car.If the spiky weeds and grainy sand weren’t there, I would’ve never known we were at the beach.
Uncle Craig let their fluffy dog gus out of the back seat. I was in the car with Jack (My cousin) and Sarah-Jane (My aunt). Gus, being a small dog got to ride in the front seat. While I sat in the back.
We started down the small sandy path. The sky was extremely gray and the whole beach was foggy. When we hit the soft sand, Gus took off. Now, you may think that Gus, being a small dog would not be fast. But, those tiny legs could run!I had to take off after him, of course. It was not like Mum, Uncle Craig or Sarah would take off after him.
After catching up with the doggie speed racer, we started collecting shells and cool looking pieces of driftwood. After walking for awhile I saw what I thought was a lion. Of course it wasn’t an actual lion, there just was a lot of fog and I mistook it for a lion. I played around on the lion-driftwood for a few minutes and Gus jumped on as well.Jack, after being silent the entire time, put gus on the lead and he and Gus headed back. It was about five minutes later when the storm came. Whistling wind Mums jacket flaps around. Rain poured down on Uncle Craig's emergency poncho that he had handed me. Thunder started and soon there was lightning. The waves started getting bigger and bigger. But, by the time they were big enough for them to do any damage we were gone. I think getting home was harder than running from the rain. The car, slipping and sliding on the road and hopping the house doesn't get struck by lightning. That went well didn’t it?
