Lamb Kidney Senses Activity

Last week the Life Education truck came to visit.
My class had two trips to the truck.
One about the whole body, the other about just the Lungs.
This week we did and activity where our teachers brought in raw meat and we had to figure out what it was.We dissected the lamb kidney and observed the insides.
Using our senses we wrote lots and lots of things.

Holes-- Mind map and Descriptive Warden Writing

For the past few weeks we have been reading the book Holes, by Louis Sachar.
We had to do a mind map to help us describe the Warden.
The Warden is an important part of Holes.
After the mind map we wrote a quick paragraph to describe the Warden.

As she stepped out of the van, her crimson red curls blowed all around her speckled face.  The sleeves on her shirt were rolled up and showed off her arms, which were two, covered with freckles.

Taking my canteen her long red finger nails scraped against the plastic.

Turning to talk (demand) to Mr Pendanski, I started to examine her.

Black boots shine almost making it hard to see, the turquoise studs were faint and hard to see.

I could see almond eyes narrowed as she stepped back into the van.
