Recount

Kia ora
Here is the recount I wrote  for an Asttle writing test in Week 4.  Our teacher marked all our recounts and gave us our scores. Mine came out at Level 3p   which is just above the end of year standard for Year Five. I got the best points for structure and the lowest points for vocabulary.
We helped each other improve them by reading each other’s recount and talking about them. We also used Revision Assistant to help edit each other’s story and Mrs B added some notes as well. Everyone in our room likes Revision Assistant because it’s easy to understand the marks/ notes that it puts on your writing and so it’s quick for us to go and do the fix-ups. We have to have practically perfect grammar, punctuation and spelling in our stories before we are allowed to publish them here. I hope someone will give me some feedback.

“We are Bored”yelled me and my cousin Jack.
My Grandpa stared at us with disbelief.”Then go play on the tramp”Grandpa muttered. “Ok” Jack muttered back. After what felt to be a whole hour my Grandpa yelled “I have the best idea ever.” We stopped jumping and turned to Grandpa. He said that himself,Grandma,Mum my Aunty Sarah and Uncle Craig had decided to take us to Snow Planet.
“Whats Snow Planet” I asked. Jack grabbed my shoulders put me on his back and said “Only the amazing inside skiing place where I learned to ski”
“Where is it then”  I asked. “That for me to know and you to find out”he said as he let me slide off his back. After what felt like two hours in the car we arrived. “That was quick” I said under my breath. Everyone else seemed so excited to go skiing again but I sort of felt a little out of place. After my grandpa ordered our skis, Jack ran to the the locker shoved his wallet in and pulled his boots on. He grabbed his skis and ran out onto the fake snow.
I had to sit down so that grandpa could put my skis on.
For about five whole of hours  skiing I was very very tired so I joined grandma in the snow planet cafe and had two big cups of hot coco.
When we got home I lay on my bed and thought about how I would be a champion skier one day and felt happy and still filled with excitement from the big day.
